Womans Health - Bacterial Vaginosis
(46 downloads)Download this episode (6 min)
Bacterial Vaginosis or B.V is something that not many of us are aware of.
Characteristics of woman who had bacterial vaginosis were compared to woman who had thrush. Clinical researcher at Monash University, Cateriona Bradshaw, says that even though BV is akin to thrush, where certain conditions cause an imbalance in the vagina, studies have found it has a very different profile. It mainly results from a recent change in sexual partner however there is still no sufficient evidence to label BV as an STD.
In this womans health report, Ellice Mol started by asking Cateriona Bradshaw, Sexual Health Physician from the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre at The Alfred Hospital, what bacterial vaginosis is.
