A new website targeting amphetamine users has been launched, drawing attention to the health risks of injecting drugs.

Written by drug users and funded by The Department of Health and Aging, the site takes a practical approach with a focus on reducing harm.

Ellice Mol Spoke with Dr Rodney Irvine, from The University of South Australia about the extent of users injecting amphetamine substances.

An interview with Fiona Poeder from the Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League is included in the report.

Ellice is a Journalist currently based in Sydney. She has a Bachelor of Biological Sciences and has studied Post Graduate Journalism at the University of Technology, Sydney. Having started on Radio 2ser's current affairs program Razors Edge, she began producing Panacea, 2ser's alternative health show. Since then she has worked on 2ser's daily news and current affairs program The Wire and The Fourh Estate, and now produces and presents her own radio program, a weekly magazine show, Wednesday Overdrive. She keeps very busy as an online producer for ABC Radio National Breakfast hosted by Fran Kelly and also reports for The Science Show on the ABC hosted by Robyn Williams.
