Japanese Consul General Mr Tsukasa Kawada understands the role of popular culture in shaping diplomatic relations. Anime and Manga are part of the phenomenon known as "Cool Japan". Anime has a global market, reaching vast corners of the world. According to Mr Kawada it promotes a positive image of Japan. I spoke with Mr Kawada about the role of Anime in public diplomacy.
